Stewart has also spent $37 million on its international arrivals terminal and expansion of US Customs facilities. Play said that while Stewart airport was located further from New York City than the major gateways of JFK and Newark, passengers would benefit from a faster journey through customs, compared with “lengthier processes” at the two larger airports. “We anticipate strong bookings in 2022, and with New York as our third US destination, Play passengers will have more choices when booking last-minute trips, workcations, and spontaneous adventures.” The Stansted-New York flights will depart four times per week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, with a layover of one hour and 35 minutes in Reykjavik.īirgir Jonsson, Play’s CEO, said: “The low fares and flexibility that passengers experience at Stewart International airport are exactly what passengers seek when they book their travel with Play.
